In all locations of Musea Brugge you will discover pieces of Bruges history, but in the Gruuthuse-museum the stories of Bruges really come to life through the objects. The museum has recently been transformed into a contemporary place of discovery, interaction and experience, but everything starts with the objects in the collection. Paintings show prominent historical figures and cityscapes, sculptured objects from disappeared buildings take you back to times long gone, tapestries, lace, copper and silversmithing are examples of the production of luxury goods in the city in those days.
